Samsung Galaxy S9|S9+ Camera Samples Leaked, Looks Stunning & Frozen in Time

By now we are pretty much sure that Samsung is bringing some big upgrades to the camera performance of its upcoming flagships which was again reassured by the official launch invite which said "Camera Reimagined". But today it seems some official promotional camera samples taken with Samsung’s Galaxy S9 have been leaked on Chinese microblogging site Weibo.  Its a set of the three photos each hint at different potential features and capabilities of the cameras on Galaxy S9 and S9+. The first photo shows a girl on a swing, indicating that the camera will be able to handle motion with quick shutter speed. The second shows a man jumping into a lake, which could be a preview of the lighting features. Finally, the picture of the cat clearly shows depth of field.

Samsung has recently posted a new description for their ISOCELL Fast sensors, top-of-the-line series on the ISOCELL sensor lineup.  It mentions sensor features that are not yet found in any of the company's sensors - most likely, these are the features prepared for the Galaxy S9 and S9 + cameras. This is the implementation of a three-layer sensor with fast reading (3-Stack FRS), which will allow it to record Full HD video with a very high frame rate ,480 fps to be precise. The recording time is 13 seconds - Sony’s Motion Eye can do double the frames per second (960fps), but for less than a fifth of a second and at 720p resolution.

In addition to the 3-Stack FRS, there is one more technology mentioned, its called Super PD. Judging by the description, devoid of technical details, this is an advanced Phase detection autofocus, which is able to quickly focus on moving objects even in low light condition. Note that the Galaxy S9 will have other technological improvements as well, one of them will be a variable aperture camera (f / 1.5 / f / 2.4). Other innovations in the smartphone are expected to be the updated 10-nm chipset Exynos 9810 and stereo speakers. Announcement Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 + is scheduled for February 25 .
