The notch design trend started by iPhone X is spreading like wildfire among's the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, so much that every one is asking one question for design of each upcoming flagship, whether to have a notch or not. Just a few weeks ago we saw some image leaks suggesting  OnePlus 6 would also have notch design and now today OnePlus has officially confirmed it. The Verge published an article with fragment of the official rendering of OnePlus 6, which clearly shows the notch design on the front side of the device, and the reasons why the company made such a decision. In particular, one of its leaders Carl Pei emphasized that it increases the useful area of the display for content, and because the space used for uppermost indent is used for the notification line, and each manufacturer decides what size it will be.

In the case of OnePlus 6, the size of the "Notch" will be 19.616 x 7.687 mm. In addition, OnePlus is working on self-optimizing applications from Google Play. The company has manually tested 1,000 apps from Google Play store to check how the notch appears on different apps.  OnePlus is shifting the position of the clock towards the left side of the display to provide more space for status icons. The device will be disguising the notch while playing a video on the phone to deliver notch-free viewing experience.  The Verge also subtly hinted that the announcement could happen before June.
