This year we have seen a couple of  blockchain smartphones like the Sugar S11 Blockchain (in January) and the Sirin Finney ( this month), there were also rumors that HTC is developing a new Android smartphone based on blockchain technology and now today a new report has emerged confirming, that the HTC is indeed working on such a device and it will be dubbed as  the HTC Exodus
According to reports, the Exodus will feature a universal wallet and a built-in  a  “secure hardware enclave”  that will support cryptocurrencies and decentralized applications such as Bitcoin, Lightning Networks, Ethereum, and Dfinity etc. HTC plans to create a native blockchain network with all Exodus units acting as nodes to facilitate cryptocurrency trading among their owners. The company is also considering accepting cryptocurrency payments for the phone itself, even though its price is yet to be decided. There is no official images have been made public yet, just the product drawings you can see above.

HTC’s  blockchain experiment head, Phil Chen( also the creator of the Vive VR headset), has stated on the Exodus that-"Through Exodus, we are excited to be supporting underlying protocols such as Bitcoin, Lightning Networks, Ethereum, Dfinity, and more. We would like to support the entire blockchain ecosystem, and in the next few months we’ll be announcing many more exciting partnerships together".

It is also reported that the Taiwanese smartphone company may consider accepting cryptocurrencies as payment for the smartphone when it is released, but there is no information regarding the Exodus availability while we expect that it would be launched before the end of this year.
