We were hearing reports that Samsung electronics is currently working on launching the next version of Bixby (Bixby 2.0) and now today Gary G. Lee the new head of AI at Samsung Research, has confirmed that the Bixby 2.0 will be launching with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9. He also revealed that this 2.0 update will upgrade the natural language processing, noise resistance capabilities, and will increase response times.
The South Korean company has also plans for adding Viv to Bixby 2.0.  Viv is an AI created by one of the founders of Siri before it was purchased by Apple so this should be a major upgrade on top of Bixby. It will allow for developers to add more integration into Bixby, also Viv should be released to Samsung smartphones at first, as a part of Bixby, and then spread to more devices.

The company has plans to connect a total of 14 million units of its products with the Bixby platform this year, and aims to connect all by 2020.  From early rumors the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is expected to be unveiled in late August, also we can see the flagship at IFA 2018 trade fair which is scheduled from August 31 and September 5.
