Apple iPhone's 2018 to Upgrade its Fast Charging Tech to Better Compete with Android Smartphones

Its just few day ago, we reported that Apple is redesigning their chargers and related interface for its next-generation iPhone and iPads, in order to adopt USB Type-C charging. Now today a new report from AppleInsider has suggested that the company is planning to upgrade the  faster charging specifications, that will allow the new 2018 models iPhones to match with the fast charging facilities of the latest Android smartphones.
According to the report Apple will upgrade from 5V 2A to 9V 2A and 5V 3A charging in its upcoming iPhone series, by this the devices will be capable to support more applications , provide a quicker recharge, and better compete with Android OEMs. Apple will accomplish this, by using Power Integrations as the lone supplier for its fast-charging chipsets, while using Flextronics and Artesyn for manufacture charging components for its upcoming iPad Pro and iPhone. The report further suggests that, after Power Integrations fixed a quality issue, it will replace ON Semiconductor and NXP Semiconductors as the main provider for the charging solution for all new iPhone and iPads.

It seems Apple will boost this as one of the breakout features of the 2018 editions of the iPhone series to compete with fast charging specifications of flagship smartphone like the OnePlus 6 and the Samsung Galaxy S9. Previous reports have suggested that Apple is planning to package a higher rated mains adaptor in the iPhone’s retail packaging, that will offer more value to the user (with a perceived $75 saving by bundling an 18 watt USB-C fast charger).
