Samsung's Gear S4 to be the First to Implement the PLP Technology with Bigger Battery & New Color Variants

We were hearing a lot of rumors about Samsung's Gear S4 or Galaxy Watch (whatever it gets called) for a while. Now today a South Korean publication has claimed that Samsung Electronics plans to assemble the application processor (AP) for their new  Gear S4, in a panel level package (PLP) method. Also there are multiple leaks regarding its launch date, battery capacity and its color variants.
According to the report, the PLP technology will be used for the first time with the Gear S4 as a testing ground,  this technology seems to be meant for smaller devices that require densely situated sensors in addition to various connectivity chips similar to modern smartwatches. PLP is apparently both cheaper to produce, and can also lead to a significantly reduced thickness of the board if paired with other modern methods, so Samsung has reportedly decided to push ahead with this PLP technology and  to implement it on the Gear S4. The company also claimed that if they succeeds in developing a new product with this PLP package and acquiring customers as scheduled,  they will be able to carry out additional investment and the scale of investment is expected to be similar to that of the first production infrastructure in 2016.

Recall early, Samsung watches are available only in two color options either black or silver, now new reports (from an anonymous sources) have suggested that the Gear S4 Classic will be available in gold or silver color options while sporty model may only come in black color. Also a recent post from Ice Universe on Weibo, has claimed that the Gear S4 will feature a 470mAh battery, which seems to be a bump up from the batteries found in the Gear S3 and the Gear Sport (which is having a 380mAh and 300mAh capacities respectively). The latest reports has revealed that the Gear S4 may get launched along with the Galaxy Note 9 in August 2018.
