The Return of Horizontal Camera on the Galaxy Note 9 Finally Explained

Recently, we reported about the leaked protective case cover of Samsung Galaxy Note 9 which showed us the horizontally aligned dual rear camera module with a repositioned fingerprint scanner , also we saw the same thing in the 3D renders published by @OnLeaks (here). Now today  reports have suggested why the Samsung electronic has decided to go for a horizontally aligned dual rear camera set up.

Recall the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 were highly criticized because of their fingerprint scanner placement, however this was corrected by launching this year's Galaxy S9 lineup with a vertically aligned setup. While the newly-positioned fingerprint scanner placed below the camera module on the S9+ seems to pleasing their customers, but considering the device’s height, it’s clear that reaching the sensor may still be a bit of a stretch for some consumers.

Last year's Galaxy Note 8 is packed with 3,300mAh battery, which seemed insufficient for the size and the power consumption of the device, due to this, Samsung is now increasing its capacity, according to the recent reports Note 9 will pack battery  between 3,850mAh and 4,000mAh. In order to do this, the company needs to create more space within the device for accommodating a larger battery this could be the reason why they have move on to the horizontal camera setup. If we look at the Galaxy S9+, it is having a vertical camera setup, with increased battery capacity to 3,500mAh but, considering the minimal size differences between the latter and the upcoming Galaxy Note 9, the huge increase in battery capacity that Samsung is hoping would be impossible to achieve with the S9+ design. So, the company has decided to make some minor design changes .

Recall early reports, the Galaxy Note 9 is expect to feature 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with  resolution about 1440 x 2960 pixels.  It  will have a powerful Exynos 9810 chipset/ Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor depending on the region. It is speculated that the Galaxy Note 9 is expected to feature an upgraded rear-facing dual camera system, probably the same two 12MP sensors found on the Samsung Galaxy S9+ with variable aperture tech that ranges from a wide f/1.5 to f/2.4. The Galaxy Note 9 is expected to bring the upgraded version of Bixby 2.0.
