Huawei's CEO Claims its Foldable Smartphones Would Replace Computers

As we reported early Samsung and Huawei are in a rush for grabbing the title of world's first foldable smartphone, meanwhile other popular Chinese smartphone manufacturers are just behind them in achieving this technology. Now today Huawei's CEO Richard Yu told German newspaper Die Welt that the Chinese company is indeed working on the foldable smartphone and the device will be so perfect that it will replace computers.
By answering a question "why he still uses a computer" asked by the interviewer,  Mr. Yu said that “Probably because you find a smartphone display too small. We will change that. It is conceivable that you fold out a display”. Also the interviewer has asked, whether there's enough commercial appeal for a such a device, Yu stated  that the foldable smartphones will be the perfect device to replace computers. Thus it seems foldable smartphones will be more  technological  advance so that people could rely more on them for their every day tasks, but it's hard to believe they will replace computers anytime soon.

If Huawei could possibly release such a foldable smartphone that would unfold into a device with a display as large as a computer it could probably replace notebooks. However, Mr. Yu also revealed in the interview that their foldable smartphone will be ready within a year. Recently Samsung has revealed that they will unveil their own foldable smartphone at MWC 2019, so next year seems to be the year for foldable device with innovative technologies.
